A site, not a slide deck

You bring the capital. We bring the equipment, the brand, the chemistry, the platform and the people who have built these before — and the plot too, if you do not have one yet. One fee, paid once, and no royalty on what you take.

How it happens

Four stages between the first phone call and the first wash sold. Nothing is committed until the site review is done.

  1. 01

    Territory check

You send the location, or tell us the area you want. We confirm whether the territory is open and review what the formats would need from a plot there.

    Territory confirmed

  2. 02

    Site review

A survey of access, utilities, drainage and traffic — on your plot, or on the ones we shortlist for you.

    Format and costs agreed

  3. 03

    Agreement

The franchise fee is paid once, the agreement is signed and the territory is locked to you. We introduce franchise-friendly lenders if you need funding.

    Territory locked to you

  4. 04

    Build and open

Design, construction, FBS equipment installation and commissioning — then training, soft launch and the grand opening.

    Doors open

Two ways in

The only thing that changes the fee is whether you already have the plot. Everything after that — the build, the brand, the equipment, the support — is the same package.

  1. 01

    You already own the land

You have bought, leased or secured a plot. We review it, confirm the format it supports, and build.

    • Run the site yourself, with full operational control.
    • Or hand the whole operation to FBS Tech Group — the management fee is agreed against the site’s monthly turnover and what running it actually takes.

    No percentage of turnover, ever
  2. 02

We secure the site for you

No plot yet. We identify the locations worth having in your area, assess them, and negotiate the one you take.

    • Operate the business yourself once it opens.
    • Or FBS Tech Group takes over the complete management of the site, for a fee agreed against its turnover.
    £25,000
    One-time franchise fee
    £0
    Royalty
    No percentage of turnover, ever

There is no ongoing royalty. We earn from the services we agree with you — the build, the chemistry, the support, and the management of the site if you ask for it — and not from a percentage of what your bays take.

What the package includes

One supplier for the machinery, the brand, the chemistry and the software. When something needs fixing, there is nobody to point at.

Compare what each format ships with
A five-bay FBS station photographed head-on at night, LED uprights and numbered bay plates lit across the full canopy
  • FBS equipment, installed

Pumps, columns, foam and wax systems, spot-free rinse and payment terminals, commissioned by our own team and warranted for two years. The cover can be extended when it runs out.

  • Site selection and feasibility

Where you have no plot yet, we find one: traffic counts, access, drainage and the numbers it would have to make, assessed before anything is signed.

  • Layout and traffic flow

The forecourt drawn so cars enter, wash and leave without meeting each other — the single design decision that most affects throughput.

  • Planning and build support

We prepare the applications, hold the technical drawings and project-manage the approvals through to sign-off.

  • Full FBS identity

Canopy signage, totem, bay numbering, LED lighting scheme and the in-bay graphics package.

  • Chemical supply

Our own formulations for self-service valeting, supplied to the network at franchise pricing.

  • Payment and monitoring platform

Card and app payment on every model, with live revenue, usage, fault and chemical-level reporting.

  • Loyalty and cashless

Bonus Chaos loyalty cards and contactless payment, running on the same platform as the bay controls rather than a bolt-on.

  • Exclusive territory

No other FBS site opens inside your area. Territory size scales with the format you build.

  • Training and launch

Operational training and manuals before opening, plus a marketing package for the run-up and the first trading month.

  • 24/7 technical support

UK-based support line with critical spares held in stock for same or next-day dispatch.

  • Remote diagnostics

Faults are read from our side before you call, so most software problems are cleared without an engineer travelling to site.

  • Ongoing business advice

Reviews of pricing, programme mix and site performance as you trade, and first access to new equipment as it ships.

  • Optional full management

If you would rather own the site than run it, FBS Tech Group operates it for you under a fee agreed against turnover.

Run the numbers yourself

Move the sliders to your own assumptions. The model is simple on purpose — it shows the shape of the business, not a guaranteed return.

Premium foam and wax programmes lift this well above the base rate.

This is an illustration, not a forecast

The model assumes 4 bays trading every day of the year and running costs at a flat 40% of gross revenue plus extras. Net profit is total revenue minus those costs. Real performance depends on location, traffic, local pricing and utility rates.

The bigger sites stop being a car wash

Add a coffee shop, a terrace and a play area and the visit changes character. People stay longer, come back more often, and spend on more than the wash.

Before you call

These are the constraints that decide whether a plot works at all. Everything after them is process.

The plot

  • From 100 m² for Starter, up to 1,000 m² for VIP
  • Drive-through or loop circulation, never a dead end
  • Visible from a road with real passing traffic
  • Drainage and trade effluent capacity

The utilities

  • 3-phase electricity, from 63 A to 160 A by format
  • Mains water at the volume the bay count demands
  • Sewer or drain connection on site
  • Water recycling recommended from five bays up

The operator

  • Capital from £60K personal, remainder commercially funded
  • No car wash experience required
  • Willing to be hands-on for the first trading months
  • Company structure and UK banking in place

A typical build

The Standard four-bay format, from enquiry to opening, over a typical 26-week schedule.

  1. Week 1–2

    Enquiry

    Territory check and site review.

  2. Week 3–4

    Agreement

    Franchise agreement signed, territory secured.

  3. Week 5–7

    Design

    Site plans and drawings finalised.

  4. Week 8–24

    Build

    Building and equipment install.

  5. Week 25–26

    Soft launch

    Training and grand opening.

Planning permission is the single biggest variable in this schedule.

Straight answers

Do I need experience in car washing?

No. The equipment is automated and the operating model is documented. We train you before opening and support the site afterwards. Most of our operators come from outside the sector.

How much of the investment has to be my own money?

We recommend a minimum of £60K personal capital. The balance is normally funded commercially, and we introduce you to lenders who already understand this franchise model.

Do I need to have the land already?

No. If you have a plot, we review it before you commit, so you are not building on something that turns out to be unsuitable. If you have not, we identify, assess and negotiate a site for you. That is the whole difference between the £15,000 and the £25,000 franchise fee — the site itself stays yours, freehold or leasehold.

What are the ongoing fees?

There is no royalty — we take no percentage of your turnover, in either option. Once the one-time franchise fee is paid, the only ongoing commitment is the chemical supply agreement at franchise pricing. A management fee applies only if you ask us to run the site for you, and it is agreed against the site’s monthly turnover before anything is signed.

Can FBS run the site for me?

Yes, under either option. Some partners want the operational control and some want the asset without the day-to-day. If it is the second, we take over the complete operation and agree the management fee against turnover and what the site actually demands.

How long does the whole process take?

A typical Standard four-bay build runs 26 weeks from enquiry to opening. Planning permission is the variable that moves the date most.

Can I open more than one site?

Yes. Multi-site agreements are available, and many operators open a second location 18 to 24 months after the first.

Start with the territory
